Bronze Ware Pradit Thorakarn Group

1990 marked the beginning of this bronze ware group. The people in the Pradit Thorakarn community got together to seek support from the Chatuchak District Office and educational institutions in the neighborhood.

In the era when bronze ware was popular, orders came from both domestic and overseas markets. The group then recruited more people and distributed works to the community members. This helped empower the people in the community as they worked and earned income. At present the bronze ware market is very sluggish especially during the pandemic. The group’s income is currently between 0-20,000 baht per month.

The bronze ware group now has 55 members, with 10 skilled craftswomen, making tableware products such as spoons-forks, knives, bracelets etc. The bronze ware made by this group represents the local wisdom of Thailand that has been passed down from generation to generation. The products’ patterns convey Thai culture as well as modernism.
