Chalong Krung Group, Zone 6

Chalong Krung Group was formed by community members who were affected by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s development projects and had to relocate to Chalong Krung Housing. As a result, many people could not pursue their careers and decided to get together for sewing work to make income. The group has been supported by the Foundation for Labour and Employment Promotion (FLEP) in group and business management, upgrading sewing skill, and online marketing. At the same time, FLEP has strengthened the women group enabling the women to access social benefits.

The women group currently has 20 members. Products and services include tailoring, embroidery for fabric products such as fabric bags, which the group makes as per orders. The women group’s products are well accepted by Unilever and NEWCITY, the leading companies in Thailand, as the products are refined, strong and durable.
