Donations for Flood Relief in Northern Thailand

It rained the whole night; I woke up and saw the flood …. I have nothing left, how we will move on

The big flood happened during 6 Sep. to 8 Sep” caused by the Yagi Super Storm affecting the Northern part of Thailand especially Chiang Rai province. Home net coordinator in the Northern region has reported that 258 homebased workers and 325 members of street vendors are affected by the recent flood. Their houses, land and property were damaged by the recent flood and huge mud. Though the water is receded today and now everyone has to clean up their houses from the mud and dirty water as well as repairing the broken property.

Among the affected informal workers, they were members of seven groups of homebased workers locating in various districts such as Nong Bua, Koa Loy, Baan Fang Min, Wat Muang Chum, Wiang, Baan Thung Mok, and bloom making group as well as members of the walking street in Chiang Rai. They urgently need some seed fund to clean up and rebuild their livelihood.

The Confederation of the Informal Economy Workers of Thailand would like to appeal to you for your kind assistance to our members in the Northern network by donating to the Confederation from now till 6 October 2024.
