The herbal soap making group was formed by community members of Rattanachai Villa in Laksi, Bangkok, who wanted to use their leisure time to make something together. The group makes cleansing soap bars from herbal ingredients.
In 2017, community members of the Rattanachai Villa in Laksi got together for leisure activity: online learning on making herbal soap bars. The group then created own formula by using tamarind, turmeric and honey as the main ingredients. At the beginning, they made soap bars to be used in their own households to reduce family expenses. Later, with support from the Foundation for Labour and Employment Promotion, the group has developed skills in business management, packaging and online sales, and could generate income for the members. At present, the group has 26 members. Sales channels include local weekend’s markets and special events organized by different agencies
