Weaving Group, Wiang Sub-district

In 1992, the Community Development Office of Chiang Kham District conducted training on weaving and designing new patterns. After the training, the community members who participated in the training were supported with looms.

Later in 2005, women in Wiang sub-district formed a group to weave clothes for daily use, also for income generating and preserving traditional clothes and culture.

At present, the Wiang sub-district weaving group has 10 members. Products made by the group include sarongs in Tai Lue patterns which are modified to make them more colourful and attractive.
