Plastic Weaving Group Pradit Thorakarn Community grew out of the bronze ware group. The group was set up to help women in the community to have alternative source of income in time of crisis when sale of bronze ware was down. With advice from others, the group decided to make extra income by weaving baskets from plastic strands. Another reason for choosing this product is low production cost and the fact that the product can be kept for a long period.
Products of the group now include baskets, bags, glass holders, gift baskets for special events. The group also accepts pre-orders. Currently, distribution channel is an invitation-only booth of the network that works together as there is no rental fee. The group has a plan to develop its products further to increase the sales.
